Create your account & first location
Register with your business name — you get a 14-day Pro trial with VoltaBooks included. Add your shop or site under Locations so products, stock, terminals, and reports all roll up correctly.

Import or create SKUs with categories and optional product photos for a fast till layout. Pair a browser till at /login/pos or install the Android POS app on a tablet — each device is tracked for shifts and accountability.

Use Cashier, Supervisor, and Manager tiers — or customise permissions for voids, discounts, refunds, shifts, stock counts, and loyalty. Every action on the till ties back to the signed-in staff member.

Enable Kitchen display in Settings → Features, create stations (Grill, Bar, Cold prep), and route categories to each screen. Use /login/kds in a browser or the Android KDS app — tickets appear in real time with prep timers, even with spotty Wi‑Fi.

On Android tills: set up receipt, kitchen, and label printers (network/USB/BT), connect a scale for weight sales, and pair a barcode scanner. In back office: post goods receipts, run stock counts, set reorder levels, and optionally require opening counts before shift — all under Settings → Features → Inventory.

Cashiers open a shift with a starting float, ring up sales (cash, card, or your own custom tenders), park tickets for tables, and cash up at close. Sold-by-weight and open-price items work on the same till.

Enable Payment Gateway for each location that should send pay links (R100/mo per location). Connect Payfast, PayGate, or Yoco under Settings → Payment Gateway. Optionally connect WhatsApp Business under Communications for one-tap send — or use Create link & open WhatsApp on the till.
